Dr Sandy Lakhanpaul

Dr Sandy Lakhanpaul graduated in 1989 from the University of Manchester where he worked for a short time in general practice.
He was subsequently appointed as a senior house officer in Oral and Maxillo -Facial surgery in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire for a period of 2 years.
He then returned to general practice where he worked in a large group practice in Nottingham before taking up his current position at The Oakwood Dental Centre in 2005.
In 2002 , Dr. Lakhanpaul was appointed by the then Minister of Health as a non executive director of the Dental Practice Board on which he served for a period of 4 years until 2006.
He has also served on the clinical external review panel offering advice on dental matters with the Department of Health and was a founding member of the Nottingham Emergency Dental Services (NEDS)
As part of his ongoing post graduate training, Dr. Lakhanpaul completed an extensive restorative dentistry course in 2002/2003.
He then embarked on further higher training in Implant dentistry in Sheffield in 2006 for a period of 2 years and has continued his interest in implant dentistry to date.
He was appointed as a Foundation Dentist Trainer in 2009 mentoring and supervising newly qualified dental surgeons and in 2012 gained a Post graduate Certificate in Medical Education with Distinction from Hallam University Sheffield.
Outside of dentistry, he is married to a Professor of Paediatrics and has 3 children around which he fits in time to pursue his passion for golf.
